Took these out on a muddy campsite last weekend and they held firm through a gusty night, even in soil where my old plastic stakes just spun out. The aluminum feels properly solid, and eight is exactly the right number to anchor a tarp plus the tent footprint.
The aluminum feels sturdy without being heavy, and the V-shape makes them slide into packed ground much cleaner than my old round pegs. Pulled them out after a windy night and every single one held firm.
The V-shape grips the soil way better than my straight ones did, even in loose gravel. They came out cleanly when I packed up, too. Eight is the right number for a full tarp setup.
