The zipper pulls are chunky enough to grab with gloves, which I appreciate when I’m wrestling with it in the wind. I’ve used it twice in rain and the interior stayed bone-dry, so the two-approach design clearly works in practice.
The setup took me about ten minutes solo, and the fabric feels bomber without adding an ounce of bulk to my pack. It's clearly built for a different mission than the old version, and I'm honestly glad they didn't try to make it do everything.
I was nervous about the weight, but the way it packs down means it barely takes up room in my car, and the black/asphalt color hides dirt way better than I expected. Setup took me under ten minutes solo, even on a windy afternoon.
